Madhugiri Fort

The Madhugiri Fort trail climbs one of Asia's largest monolithic rock formations, following the remains of a historic hill fort. The route passes through a series of fortified gateways, defensive walls, and rock-cut steps before reaching steep sections across exposed granite slabs that define the character of the climb. These exposed traverses make the ascent physically and mentally demanding despite the relatively short route. The summit preserves sections of the fort walls and other remnants of the former stronghold, reflecting Madhugiri's military significance. From the top, the fort overlooks the surrounding plains and scattered hills.

Devarayanadurga

The hill has two primary destinations: the Shri Yoga Lakshminarasimha Swamy Temple and the inspection bungalow on the opposite side. Motorable roads lead close to both locations, allowing visitors to either begin on foot from the base of the hill or drive to the designated parking area and complete only the final stretch on foot. The mapped trailhead represents the start of the walking route from the base, while the marked parking location indicates the end of the motorable road. This allows hikers to choose between a longer walk or a shorter approach depending on which destination they plan to visit.
